ABOUT MPE'S PTA: Our mission is to support the students, teachers, and families of Mount Pleasant Elementary through educational enrichment, community-building events, fundraising, volunteerism and more! We work closely with the State and National Parent Teacher Associations to provide the best possible learning environment for all students!

This year, the PTA's focus is on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math). Our fundraising goal is help add and improve available STEAM resources at MPE. This will allow teachers and students more access to current technology and educational resources within their classrooms. WHAT ELSE DOES THE PTA DO?

The PTA provides educational enrichment for our children

• Helps fund educational tools and software programs for our classrooms

• Subsidizes field trips and sponsors informational assemblies and speakers 

• Organizes and sponsors special events such as Book Fair, Reading Night, International Night and more

• Organizes and sponsors enrichment clubs and programs like Lego League, Walking Wednesdays, Story Walk and Dragon Dads

• Provides need-based scholarships for after-school activities

The PTA supports our school, students and staff

• Sponsors need-based supply drives 

• Gives teacher grants to purchase classroom resources and supplies

• Provides and coordinates volunteer support 

• Hosts staff appreciation events

• Supports “Green” efforts at MPE which include Terracycling, recycling, composting and gardening

• Helps subsidize facility repairs and enhancements when possible

• We raise money to support MPE through regular fundraisers and Spirit events

The PTA builds community and has FUN

• Hosts community movie nights

• Organizes yearly Dragon Dance

• Organizes other fun events like Oasis Night, No-Cook Nights, Spirit days and more

• Provides and sells Spirit Wear

The PTA communicates

• Holds monthly meetings (babysitting provided) and parent coffees

• Manages and recruits PTA classroom contacts

• Maintains PTA website, blog, PTA social media accounts, and the main office bulletin board

• Sends out event flyers and monthly newsletters

• Updates PTA calendar
