PTA EXECUTIVE BOARD
President: Sarah Stowens

EXECUTIVE BOARD DESCRIPTIONS/DUTIES:
All officers are members of the Executive Board and should attend all meetings of the Executive Board (July & December) and the General PTA meetings (September-May).
President: Coordinates officers and committees, presides at PTA meetings, attends PTA District and Council meeting and works closely with the Principal. Manages the operations of the PTA. Time: Yearlong commitment including planning over the summer.
Vice President (Fundraising/School & Community Support): Oversees fundraising events and acts as liaison between event chairs and the board. Assists with volunteer recruitment for events. Oversees and approves communication sent out to MPE families and the community. Attends monthly PTA meetings and 2-3 board meetings a year including one summer planning meeting.
Treasurer: Receives and deposits money. Works with the project chairs on budgets. Issues checks for PTA budget related items. Prepares budget along with executive board for approval by membership. Completes monthly bank reconciliation and keeps budget updated. Works with outside accountant to provide necessary documents to prepare tax filings. Time: Attends PTA meetings and 2-3 board meetings including one summer planning meeting.
Membership: Runs the annual membership campaign and submits membership to the state. Time: Attends monthly PTA meetings and 2-3 board meetings a year including one summer planning meeting. Workload is heaviest during the beginning of the school year.
Secretary: Records and files minutes of PTA general and board meetings. Oversees communication efforts including social media posts. Assists with maintaining the official documents and ensuring the website is updated. Time: Attends monthly PTA meetings and 2-3 board meetings a year including one summer planning meeting.
